Peppermint Bark Fudge

While I love the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I truly treasure the times we as a family intentionally make time to relax and enjoy all the wonderfulness of Christmas.

I purposely added “intentionally” because without being intentional our whole month would fly by with all of the opportunities to go caroling, holiday concerts, parties, shopping, and other festivities.

All of these events are great, but we pick and choose what we will participate in so we don’t end up tired, grumpy, and not really have enjoyed any of it as much as we had hoped.

Plus, we all enjoy being at home whipping up sweet treats like this Peppermint Bark Fudge and watching all of our Christmas movies! Nothing is better in my book.

While at home, we also enjoy certain traditions like our homemade advent calendar that uses a mini muffin tin, paper, and candy. While we countdown to Christmas each day, we also read the Advent for Kids app on my Iphone. We usually do this right after school or in the evening.

It always make my heart happy to hear the kids read a portion of the Christmas story each day.

The past several years we have cut down our own Christmas tree in the Black Hills. Besides the fact that it looks so beautiful and smells amazing, we keep a thin portion of the trunk and write with permanent marker the year and where we cut down the tree.

Then each disk goes in a cute bowl with sparkly pine cones.

Most years we make goodie trays for our neighbors and this fudge always look beautiful along with the brightly colored sugar cookies and candies

This Peppermint Bark Fudge recipe is SO easy to prepare and looks like a million bucks when it is finished.

The ingredient list is short and the process is simplified because there is no boiling of the chocolate or use of candy thermometers.

Because, let’s be honest…who has time for that when there are Christmas movies to watch?! 😉
