My name is Michelle and I’m from Eastern Iowa, so we’re almost neighbors. I blog at Simplify, Live, Love and share the adventures of my family as we live in a barn on a 5 acre homestead – where we raise backyard chickens, homeschool, and are building a passive house that we will into move into in 2015. Sarah assures me that all 200 South Dakotans read her blog and I’m happy to meet you all today! (ha, ha very funny…you live in Iowa…not much better! – Sarah)

I started ordering from Azure Standard in April of 2012 after I read about it on Money Saving Mom. We moved to Iowa from Colorado in 2006 and I had a really hard time finding healthy bulk food {wheat berries, to be precise} for a decent price which is why I was initially drawn to Azure Standard. When I first learned of Azure Standard, they were not yet delivering to Iowa. But I was convinced they would grow and get to me, and within a few months, they were coming my way. Needless to say, I was thrilled.

Over the last few years, I’ve learned a lot about ordering from Azure Standard. I shared 9 Tips for Ordering from Azure Standard on my blog, Simplify,Live,Love, some time ago. I’ve had a lot of questions about the ordering process, so I’m happy to share even more tips with you today!

5 Tips for Maximizing Azure Standard Orders

1. Start your next order after your first pickup. I always see so many items when I pick up my order that I wished I would have ordered too. It’s helpful to me to start my next order as soon as I put away my current order so that I remember what it was I wanted to get. I’m pretty scattered like that – you might be more organized and could just write out a list that you wouldn’t then lose. I can’t do that so I start my next order very soon after picking up an order. If you are ordering from Azure Standard for the very first time, just make sure that your first order is at least $50 to avoid the shipping surcharge. Then peek at what everyone else gets as the truck unloads to give you good ideas for your next order.

2. Use the RESUME Button to edit your cart until order cut-off. I like to place my order early, well before the order cut-off deadline, but that doesn’t mean that order is set in stone. After I’ve checked out, I continue to edit and review my order until the order deadline. To change your order before the order deadline, use the RESUME Button. You can find it by logging into your account and then clicking MY ACCOUNT. You will see RESUME ORDER next to the order that you can still edit. Click it, and start making changes.

Don’t forget to check the AUTO CHECKOUT button so that you don’t lose your entire order if you forget to finish the check out process. That’s very important!

3. Think beyond food – Azure Standard also sells natural health care and personal care products as well as gardening products, books, and farm animal supplies! Think essential oils, colloidal silver, Manuka honey, toothpaste, shampoo, Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar, organic chicken food. I love that I can order such a variety of wonderful items directly from Azure Standard.

4. Use the ADD TO FAVORITES button for items you plan to purchase regularly – The favorite button is a very easy way to save time on items you purchase often or want to remember for future orders. For instance, I buy a lot of Nancy’s Whole Milk Organic Yogurt, so I added it to my favorites.

Instead of searching for that yogurt every time I place a new order, I simply click on my FAVORITES, check the ones I want to re-order, and add them to my cart. It’s so easy and I love that it saves me time.

5. Tell all your friends so Azure Standard keeps growing and the healthy food movement gains momentum. We need reliable companies who sell food we can trust at a price we can afford. We need to keep Azure Standard growing so everyone has access to safe food so tell your friends how much you love them – because I know you will!
