Cookie + Smoothie + Healthy = Best Breakfast EVER!

The BEST Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Smoothie Bowl | Cookie flavors any time of the day work for me, but this healthy breakfast recipe can't be beat! If you have ever wondered how to make a smoothie bowl, look no further. Make this easy and protein filled (Greek yogurt & almond milk) meal with toppings galore on weekend mornings...so you have time to savor every last bite. Gluten free and clean eating has NEVER tasted so good!

So let’s be honest, smoothie bowls are not for busy weekday mornings. If we are making smoothies on weekdays it’s because we are rushing out the door and need something quick, easy, and healthy to eat.

Smoothie bowls are for the weekend, for the holiday mornings, for the snow days that you can lazily meander your way through the day. It’s not that they are difficult to make, quite the contrary, but you want to enjoy every last delicious bite…

…and school mornings are not those mornings! Ha!

Do you want to know the best part about smoothie bowls?

The toppings!

I am a toppings sort of gal. The more toppings the better in my mind. I like complexity of flavors and textures and that is what this smoothie bowl offers. The creaminess of the Greek yogurt paired with the chewy texture of dried oatmeal mixed in and crunchy chocolate chips is so amazing.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

1/4 cup old fashioned oatmeal (dry)

1/2 cup frozen banana slices equivalent of 1 small frozen banana

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1 Tbsp chocolate chips

2 Tbsp pure maple syrup

1/2 cup ice cubes (5-6 large cubes)

This Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie Bowl is fabulous topped with dried oatmeal, chocolate chips, seeds such as hemp or ground flax, and even fruit.

Even dried cranberries would be a great option. I am currently working on a white chocolate chip dried cranberry oatmeal cookie (geez, that was a mouthful) so I know the sweet and tart flavors work well together.

I think this smoothie is absolutely perfect, but I realize taste buds vary. You may feel the smoothie needs more cinnamon flavor or more sweetness. Please make this smoothie bowl your own! Add more cinnamon and vanilla or eliminate he maple syrup altogether.
